Good value October 6, 2008 Mary C. Nicolo (Southampton, PA United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Arrived as promised. Screen image good. Had a little trouble with the remote, but not significant.
solid performer, not outstanding September 30, 2008 Tuan A. Vu (Chantilly, VA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Give this a 4 stars bc of its solid build and up-to-par functionality(the smaller Sony FX820 is more hi-tech more friendly w/ more large-screen capability) However, it has some grinding noise at times and does not have the upconvert capability (by which a 4.3 format smoothly becomes a 16.9 without visible distortion) Nevertheless, it is acceptable for children movies which do not require Hi-fi, hi-res and large screen across. 4 stars (but barely) for the metalic feel and very acceptable cosmetics and price.
NICE! August 31, 2008 Kristine (Chicago, IL) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Great price---great sound---connects to your TV, if needed---it is so light compared to older portable DVD players---easy to use and the screen is bigger than the average one. Long lasting battery charge, too! I bought this for a gift, but would like one for myself. Worth buying!!
Toshiba SD-P1S Portable DVD Player August 27, 2008 Tweet (Alaska) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This DVD player is very good but I do have trouble with the control buttons. Black on black lettering is very hard to see if you are watching a movie and want to either pause, fast forward or back up and are also a senior citizen. Other than that it has good resolution and sound and the battery has a nice longer life than other players.
Ours did not work well at all August 20, 2008 Sharon (San Diego) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
We got this to keep our kid amused on a 4 day drive. It worked, but barely. It stopped regularly and would only restart when "jiggled". It also made terrible sounds that could not have been right. Also, it would not play the "bonus features" on several of the DVD's although it played the basic movie okay. We returned it after the trip due to all the problems.
